SAFETY INFORMATION

1. SPECTATE THE RALLY IN RIGHT PLACE

It is forbidden to spectate the rally in the “DANGER ZONE” areas. You can spectate the rally only in the special spectating areas.

2. FOLLOW THE ORDERS OF THE SAFETY MARSHALS

The orders of all safety officials must be followed unconditionally. If they or the crews of zero-cars inform the organizers the stage cannot be run safely, the stage will be cancelled. If you notice spectators behaving dangerously, help us straighten them out.

3. BE CAREFUL AT THE CROSSINGS!

The areas at crossroads where rally cars do not go are marked off with „envelopes“ made of security tape. Many think it is safe to stand behind such – this is not so! A driver may use the „envelope“ as a safe place to drive off the road when braking goes wrong. In such case the car comes to a stop tens of meters after the „envelope“.

4. CARS MAY NOT PASS WITH 1 MINUTE INTERVALS

Although cars usually start with one minute intervals this may not be their distance at the end of stages. This is because the competitors’ speed differs, they have technical difficulties, etc. Never suppose you have a whole minute to cross the road after a racecar has passed.

5. ROAD IS A RELATIVE CONCEPT

At least at a rally stage it is. A car cutting a corner may leave the road and the “surprises” next to the road may change its course.

6. THINK BEFORE HELPING THE RALLY CAR

When a car has gone off road and needs help to get back, think before you rush to help. One of the helpers should always direct the helpers and keep an eye for the next car for safety. Keep in mind the drivers who went off are agitated and they have a limited field of view in the car. Children should never be allowed to help.

7. AN ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN ON A STRAIGHT

A technical malfunction may cause a car to hurtle off road on a straight suspension damaged in jumps may cause this even tens of kilometres after the damage took place.

8. PARK WITH RESPONSIBILITY AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS

When parking is arranged on the access road, please park on one side of the road only. Please reverse your car before parking it. Please don’t clog the road – access to the stage must be kept open throughout the competition. Follow our parking officials and their instructions.

9. IT IS NOT ONLY THE OUTSIDE CORNERS THAT ARE DANGEROUS

So are the inside corners and braking areas. A driver can misjudge the braking distance or a dangerous situation is caused by changing road surfaces. A car may end up going off on the inside corner if the driver enters a turn with a flick but regains traction sooner than expected. Do consider these factors when choosing your spot.

10. FASTER SPOT MEANS BIGGER DANGER

As speeds get serious, so does the danger. The most dangerous spots are the outside coreners, jumps and the combinations of turns that follow these. Such conditions leave very little time for the driver to correct a mistake and for the audience to move out of the way. Follow the rally from a safe distance, don´t turn your back to the road and keep in mind that a rally car racing 200km/h travels 55m in one second! Make sure that if You are choosing the spectacting point, then You know how to evacuate from there in case of an accident.

11. THE DRIVER DOES NOT SEE YOU

The racers have their mind only on racing. Audience strolling on the road is not marked in their notes and the resulting collision is bound to be tragic. Pass the road only on appointed places and make sure the passing is safe! Cars may follow each other with very short intervals.

12. TAKE IT EASY AND FOLLOW THE OFFICIAL NEWS MEDIA OF THE RALLY

Reserve plenty of time for yourself to move from one stage to another. There are a lot of cars on the roads, there may be some jams, parking takes time as does locating a good spot for viewing. The official Rally Radio is the most prompt channel to get information about traffic jams, parking, delays etc.
